Cubs runs on Tuesdays from 7pm to 8:15pm, at the Scout Hut on Birch Lane. Cubs usually covers years 3 to 6 at school, before the Cub moves up to Scouts at a time tailored to suit the individual child.
Building on skills they learnt at Beavers, we aim to be outdoors as much as we can during the year, based mostly around the Scout hut but heading out into the woods and round the village where possible. There is a varied curriculum involving a set program along with a number of additional proficiency badges and crafting skills, allowing the cubs to build on any hobbies and interests they may have, whilst having fun and playing games. Skills learnt include Firelighting, Cooking over an Open Fire and Campcraft.
We aim to run a couple of camps each year, giving an opportunity to sleep under canvas. We often use fixed campsites which allow us access to a number of activities such as Archery and Go Karting.
